Boubín (1,362 m above sea level) is a mountain in the Boubín Highlands, the fifth highest peak in the Czech part of Šumava. The Boubín Primeval Forest is one of the most important forest reserves in the Czech Republic – an original primeval forest with thousand-year-old trees that have never been logged.
A walk through the Boubín Primeval Forest is a unique experience, where you will encounter giant firs, spruces and beeches. At the summit of Boubín stands a lookout tower with views across the whole of Šumava. The trail is fairly demanding, but the reward of the views makes it well worth it.
